Wild Harvest is an early-stage social enterprise, which partners with communities in Jharkhand to ethically harvest and market food-grade Mahua flowers.

Culinary Possibilities

The dried Mahua flower has potential to be an exciting superfood that can be explored in products like energy bars, muesli, granola, chocolates, and even beverages. However, the biggest challenge is establishing Mahua as a food ingredient is a safe, scientific and steady supply of these flowers.

Ethical Harvesting

At Wild Harvest, we’re passionate about ethical sourcing. In 2024, we partnered with 40 households in the Jonha region of Ranchi district and worked with more than 120 trees. Our collaboration with communities enabled distributing sustainable harvesting kits and supporting them in the collection, drying, and marketing of Mahua flowers. We collected the flowers on green nets, sun-dried them on machans to below 13% moisture, and hermetically stored them in cold storage facilities.
